Aurora Forecast

Mike enjoys astronomy and earth science and looks for the Northern Lights or Aurora Borealis whenever he can. We collect our data from NOAA's Space Weather Prediction Center, check it against your location and send an email if it is beyond a certain threshold, say 10% viewing possibility. From our location in Northwest Indiana, this provides alerts for about 5 evenings per year.

Submit your info below if you'd like to receive email notifications for your location. We will not use your information for anything other than sending you Aurora Forecast notifications. A sample email alert is provided below.

You can pause or cancel notifications at any time with buttons/links provided within each email.

Note for multiple location alerts

  • Aurora notification accounts are unique to each name and email address.
  • You can use different email addresses for different locations.
  • If you would like notifications for more than one location sent to the same email address, you can use a different name for each location.
    • For instance, Mike lives in Indiana, but travels to South Dakota occasionally. His Indiana name is 'Mike - IN' and his South Dakota name is 'Mike - SD', both using the same email address for notifications.
